NOW OFFERING UPGRADED STRIP LASHES

NOW OFFERING UPGRADED STRIP LASHES

What’s great about Silhouette’s makeup services, is that they all include strip lashes. We believe that lashes make such a difference in your bridal look and your wedding photos, that we want you to wear them. We have had incredible success with our synthetic strip lashes. They are easy to apply, comfortable to wear and look fabulous. Synthetic lashes are the most common type of false eyelashes, which are made from plastic man-made fibers. The lashes tend to be a lot thicker in comparison to the natural human lash and are meant to be disposed of after a single use. These lashes will always be included in our services.

However, in 2019, we decided to up our “glam” game and offer an upgrade to our Brides and Clients by offering Mink Lashes. They are made from real mink fur, which allows for a light, soft, fluffy and ultimately, more natural look, matching to a similar quality of natural human lashes. Due to the high quality of materials and light weight of the lashes, mink lashes are able to be reused over and over!

Both srip lash options (synthetic and mink) will give your eyes a larger appearance and both are great whether you choose a Glam or a more Natural makeup look. We can help you decide during your trial run OR over email which option is better for you. You might not decide until the day of…which is okay too.

If you decide to Upgrade, we can talk about the best Mink Lashes for you and what fits your style the most.  The best part is…you can wear them again. Take them on your honeymoon or keep them for date nights. You should get at least 5 wears out of these strips.

HAIR ACCESSORY OPTIONS

Flowers

We love this chart for showing brides’ different hairstyles for their wedding. Once you pick out the style, it can easily be customized with jewelry or flowers.

Here are some examples of using flowers to add a whimsical texture to an updo.

It is always best to ask your florist for some extra flower clippings the morning of your wedding. That way your stylist can customize a look just for you and your bridesmaids.

Hair Jewelry

Adding a small or large vintage clip can enhance the classic and romantic feel of your hairstyle. Hair jewelry can be placed on the side or in the back of your hair. They are a great accent piece to updos and half-up hairstyles.

Our team comes prepared with a variety of hairpieces that are available to use on your wedding morning. A rule of thumb is to match the stones that are in your dress or jewelry you are wearing, i.e. pearls, crystals, etc.

AVOID BEING TOO TRENDY

The current trend seems to braids…but as the bride, try and opt for a more classic style that you won’t regret in 10 years. You can still achieve a trendy style but opt for getting twists, curls, or a messy knot. If you like the more classic style, you can never go wrong with a modified chignon.

AVOID BEING TOO TRENDY

It is highly recommended that you consider buying hair extensions for your wedding. MAJORITY of “wedding hair” pinterest pictures use additional hair to make your style appear more voluminous and full.  Extensions can also add length to your hair, to achieve longer styles. With so many options now on the Internet, it is easy to find inexpensive clip ins and tracks.

The key is to find multicolor extensions, not hair that’s one solid shade. Find an extension brand that offers multilevel coloration—this means that each shade features seven to 11 different colors, which are hand-blended to look totally natural, just like your own hair.

Make sure you set up a consultation or trial run with your hair stylist so they can advise you on the extensions that would be the best for the hairstyle you chose for your wedding.

CLEAN DRY HAIR

Contrary to what we were told in the past….it is ALWAYS recommended to show up with clean, dry hair on the wedding day.  Wedding hair stylists always show up with dry shampoo and texturizing products that can easily “dirty” your hair for curls and styles to stay put.

“It is much easier to dirty clean hair, than to make dirty hair look clean.”

This advice is for the entire bridal party!!

BEFORE WEDDING SKINCARE ADVICE

BEFORE WEDDING SKINCARE ADVICE

Despite expert advice, most brides start too late getting their skin wedding-ready. Using new products, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels within a month of your wedding IS NOT how to achieve the best results in a short amount of time. Here is a summarized timeline from Bride’s magazine on how to optimize your skin’s natural beauty and glow before your big day!

1 YEAR OUT
There are many long-term benefits in using retinol and a prescription-strength retinoid. However, the short-term effects can include redness, peeling, and a possible uptick in acne before all the benefits kick in. This is why you should start with non-prescription retinol for at least 4-8 weeks before progressing to a prescription retinoid.

9 MONTHS OUT
If your budget permits, visit a local esthetician for an exfoliating facial or peel, once a month. Or for a budget-friendly option, I recommend alternating a high-end exfoliator and deep cleansing mask, every other week. After each treatment, apply a generous amount of Vitamin C for skin brightening.

5 MONTHS OUT
Green Juice is GREAT for the skin because it’s oxygenating and contains vital minerals to help stimulate the lymphatic system, which aids in draining out the puffiness. Start drinking Green Juice once a day.

Also, if you can, decrease your intake of red wine to prevent skin dehydration, broken capillaries, and dullness.

3 MONTHS OUT
To maintain moisture, continue using a gentle cleanser that’s sulfate and paraben-free. Wash your face last when showering, to let the steam open and activate your pores. Immediately pat your skin dry and apply a lotion to lock in moisture.

1 MONTH OUT
By now, you should see a dramatic difference and improvement in your skin. Keep a clean diet and make sure you are doing self-care to manage stress. This month should be focused on pampering yourself and maintaining the beautiful skin you have worked so hard to achieve.

Team Silhouette has some experienced and knowledgeable licensed estheticians that would be happy to recommend products and customize a skin care plan just for you.
